Please plan your arrival in Havana and taxi to your hotel of choice.
Check-In to the hotel Vedado, St. John or Hotel Havana Libre.

DAY 2, Monday April 30 2019
Meeting with ICAP, the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the People for a discussion on the current relationship between the US and Cuba.
Visit to the Museum of the Revolution.
Lunch at a the Bodequita del Medio in Old Havana
Explanation of the history and development of Havana by an architect/urban planner, explanation of the social and political effects on the development of the Cuban Capital (Miguel Coyula requested).
Walking tour of Old Havana and visit to the Taller Graffica.
Enjoy a guided Walking City Tour of Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Delegates also have time to engage with Cubans at their art studios, galleries and markets where participants will meet with Cuban artists and find out first hand how artist negotiate between the tourist market, a socialist economy and new opportunities or individual entrepreneurship.
Visit the four major historical squares of Cuba. Historian’s massive efforts to restore Old Havana buildings, attract tourism and new investment, and improve social services for local residents. See buildings and homes in different stages of reconstruction, meet with neighborhood residents. Learn about how tourism impacts economic good.
Break to debrief, swim or relax.

DAY 3, Tuesday, April 29, 2019
Continuation of the tours, meetings and overview of current conditions in Cuba including a review of the new proposed constitution and the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the founding of Havana set for November.
Learn about labor history in Cuba as we exchange with a member of the Cuban Workers Confederation, CTC.
Exchange with the Poder Popular to learn about the new Constitution and political participation in Cuba.
Lunch at El Aljibe
Tour the newly renovated Capitol Building.
Exchange with the FMC, the Federation of Cuban Women, to learn about gender equity in Cuba. Then visit one of their mass community projects like Educa tu Hijo to support women workers.
Dinner and Evening free like for cultural activities like live jazz at the Jazz at the Fox and the Crow

DAY 4, Wednesday, May 1, 2019
We board the bus at 4:00 am in order to arrive at Revolutionary Square, park, go through security, and find our seats for the March of 1,000,000 workers celebrating May Day.
After the March we have lunch and have the rest of the afternoon for a break.

DAY 5, Thursday, May 2, 2019
As many of the delegation as the Confederation Of Cuban Workers will allow will attend the International Conference of Labor Solidarity meeting and lunch.
Any delegates who can not attend will visit the huge Arts and Crafts market.
Participate today in the International Conference of Labor Solidarity.
Visit to the Denunciation Memorial
Exchange with unions that represent the health care delivery system.
Dinner and evening are free for cultural options

DAY 6, Friday, May 3, 2019
Travel to Matanzas Province to a great museum on the enslavement process of African prisoners and a visit with community leaders.
Return to Havana for dinner.
We are off for the provinces of Matanzas known for its AfroCuban culture and legacy is called the “City of Bridges” or the Athens of Cuba We stop at the Bacunayagua Bridge on way to Matanzas town.
Visit to the Slave Route museum and tour San Severino.
We will then visit the artist cooperative of Ediciones Vijia and have lunch.
Exchange with the union of tourism workers in Matanzas-Varadero .
Return to Havana.
Farewell dinner at La Casa de La Amistad.

DAY 7 Saturday May 4, 2019 : Las Terrazas ( B,L,D)
Breakfast at the hotel and check out
Departure to Artemisa to visit Las Terrazas community.
Visit to the Eco Station of the place and enjoy time to hike the community and enjoy café at Maria’s Café.
Lunch at the ecological restaurant ¨El Romero¨ and meet with Tito (if he is there, the founder of the gourmet Cuba vegetarian movement) .
Hike through and visit the community and their local residents and artists.
Pm Departure to the hotel in Viñales.
Check in at the hotel and time to relax.
Dinner at hotel and time to relax together (La Ermita or Jazmines requested)
DAY 8, Sunday May 5th , 2019 Viñales (B,L )
Walking Farm tour in the Valley . This morning we will enjoy a guided walking tour through farms. Meet with different farmers (including tobacco) and their families as you learn about Cuban agriculture and small-scale farming.
Visit Paraiso Farm with Wilfredo and Family.
Lunch at Paraiso Farm. Exchange with Tobacco farmers.
Pm return to the hotel and have time to relax and have dinner/
Exchange with a local CDR and overnight in Vinales
DAY 9 Monday May 6th Pinar del Rio (B,L)
We are off to visit the town of Pinar del Rio. Here we will visit a community arts project called Love and Hope. This project supports those with Down’s Syndrom using arts and culture to inspire.
Lunch in town.
Learn about public health and provincial medicine at a local Hospital.
Return to Vinales Valley for an opportunity to hike, rent horses, etc.
Overnight in Vinales.
Dinner is free for you to enjoy local paladares.
DAY 10 Tuesday May 7 th Viñales (B,D)
Breakfast at the hotel
Check out of our hotel.
Visit with a local family doctor in Viñales . After we we return to Havana on arrival we will have free time for lunch in Old Havana and for arts and craft shopping at the San Jose de Almancenes.
Farewell Dinner at a local Paladar with invited guests from the CTC-the Cuban Union of Workers.
DAY 11 Wed. May 8th Departure (B)
Breakfast and transfer to the Jose International Airport
